Utah

Idaho

Montana
Of course, up until the last day in Montana, I had already caught more species than I expected on the 11 day fishing trip. I started by catching Bonneville cutthroat and brown trout in Utah. I traveled to Idaho next and caught brook trout, Yellowstone cutthroat, Snake River Fine-Spotted Cutthroat trout, rainbow trout, mountain whitefish, Bull trout, Westslope cutthroat trout, Kokanee salmon, and some sort of Salmon smolt. Finally in Montana, I ended up catching brown trout, brook trout, rainbow trout, Grayling, and cutthroat trout. I think I counted them all and this is the first real time looking back at my species.
So! That would mean I caught two species in Utah, ten species in Idaho, and five species in Montana.
Some brook trout are not pictures because I was bored with them and didn’t want to catch them on this trip because of how invasive they are. I caught them amongst the cutthroat and in beaver ponds. I wan’t impressed, but of course it was September and some were already colored up!
I am going to post some pictures of fish and maybe you can help me ID some. I know it is hard without the watershed, but I will give as much detail without giving away the actual location.
The Fish Up For Debate!
