Fishing Year In Review

A few months ago I ended up going through the pictures in my phone and wrote an outline of my fishing year. It turned into this and it was pretty interesting to see my activities throughout the year…

2023 – I missed a fish in AZ.

I went into more detail about the specific locations/fish in each state further down on each document. This has helped me remember trips and people that I have fished with. The reminiscing of certain days allowed me to bask in the joy of each person I got to fish with. I may not remember every fish I caught, but these logs also allow me to track my progress and tenkara journey.

I realized with these yearly logs, I have increased my literal places fished BUT my journey has also shifted from just fishing to also creating memories with friends and educating people. This year (2025) I will see a huge transition to going to shows and actually hosting and exposing/educating people on the Art of Tenkara. And I could not be more THRILLED!

And l, if you’ve read this far, I am happy you‘re on this journey with me. Hope to fish with you on the stream some day!

2025 – during the Connecticut BHA/AFI event teaching tenkara fly fishing to veterans.
2024 – Taking a break while hiking in NH with my girl, Rachael. Featuring my Zimmerbuilt sling.
2024 – Picture taken by Jonathan Antunez and n my first trip to Colorado.
2023 – Fishing near Phoenix, AZ in November.
2022 – Redeye Bass of the Bartram’s Bass variety caught on the Chattooga River which divides Georgia and South Carolina.

Ah, the memories…….
